Deerfield Beach Man Tricked and Threatened Women Into Prostitution

November 9, 2017

According to the Sun Sentinel: Robert Miner, a 27-year-old man from Deerfield Beach was arrested for sexually assaulting a number of women as well as tricking and threatening them into prostitution. He would lure women into his ‘business’ by initially offering to pay to take pictures of the to-be victims as swimsuit models. On at least one occasion, a 22-year-old woman was offered a modeling job from Miner and after he picked her up from the bus station, he took her to a hotel room and then threatened her with a large knife to force her to have sex with him. After his initial assault, he would manipulate and threaten the victims in order to force them into prostitution. To keep his victims working for him, Miner was known to create a fearful environment. He was quoted as saying:

“Just because I’m a gentleman doesn’t mean I’m not grimy” – Robert Miner

“I grew up in the streets and done everything.” – Robert Miner

This was a very similar story to that of several other of Miner’s victims. Miner is currently being held on charges including human trafficking, money laundering, and sexual battery.
