Music Teacher Accused of Sexual Battery On One or More of His Students

According to CBS Miami: Joseph Michel, a 57-year-old music teacher from Miami-Dade has been accused of sexual battery on a 14-year-old student. Michel was arrested on March 22 and supposedly committed his crime on February 26 at his own townhome in Miami-Dade. According to the police report, his victim had been taking regular private lessons at Michel’s home before she was assaulted. Michel was arrested and put in jail on a $25,000 bond and was ordered to neither possess nor use any firearm. It is also believed by law enforcement that there could be other victims and that they are encouraged to come forward. The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Detective Argemis Colome has been quoted as saying:

“If there is anyone out there, such as a student, who feels that something did not seem right or feel right, please contact your parents so they can call us right away,” – Miami-Dade Police Det. Argemis Colome
