Daniela Leavitt, Esquire is a highly experienced criminal trial lawyer. She has a vast and nearly limitless understanding of each and every facet of criminal law. Leavitt enjoys giving back to her local community by serving as a Magistrate for Polk County’s Teen Court Program. Daniela also volunteers for Angel Flight Southeast as an Earth Angel and a Flight Assistant.

Education

Daniela graduated summa cum laude from Stetson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business. During her stay at Stetson, she became a member of the Stetson Law Advocacy Board. In 2008, her teammate and her placed third in the nation for Mediation. In 2009, Leavitt interned at the State Attorney’s Office in Pinellas County as a Certified Legal Intern. She then graduated cum laude with her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.

Career

She began her career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Florida. During her time there, she worked and tried around 70 jury trials and argued countless pretrial motions. Her cases here included everything from minor misdemeanors to major felonies. She then joined the Special Projects Division where she worked closely with experts enforcing prosecuting of Internet Crimes Against Children. She specifically focused on crimes involving child pornography, sextortion and use of a computer to seduce a child. Leavitt is also a standing member of the Florida Bar and the Federal Bar for the Middle District of Florida.
